Adult Tennis Clinic Dates:
Please note our Intro 2 Tennis / Back To Tennis, Intro 2 tennis / Advanced Beginners and our Weds. Intermediate Clinic follow the following Session schedules! All other adult programs are offered weekly with the option of prepaying for a package.
Session 1: Sept. 14, 2020 – Oct. 25, 2020

If you need to cancel, a 24 hour notice is required, our make-up policy is found on our web site.

Tennis Class Descriptions:
Intro 2 Tennis
Learn the basics of tennis from technique and strategy to the rules of the game. Each week focuses on a combination of instruction and point play. This program is a great way to make tennis connections and meet new tennis players similar to your level.
Designed for players who are not new to Tennis, but looking to improve technique, strategies, court positioning. Each week focuses on a combination of instruction and point play. This program is a natural progression from Intro 2 Tennis.
Back to Tennis
Did you play tennis in High School or in college and want to get Back into tennis? This class was created for adults to get re-introduction to tennis. We go over the basics of tennis technique, movement and strategy. This program is a great way to make tennis connections and meet tennis partners.
Adult Intermediate Tennis
For players with a foundation in the basics who are looking to take their game to the next level with a focus on adding advanced shots, court positioning, tactics, and shot selection. Each week focuses on a combination of instruction and point play. Design for advancing 2.5 and 3.0 NTRP level
Men’s Advanced Tennis
Practice your strokes, movement, and pointplay with a fast paced live ball practice. Focuses include work on transition game, poaching, court positioning, teamwork, etc. NTRP level: High 3.5-4.5
Advanced Mixed Tennis
Men and women are welcome to come practice their doubles games through a largely point-based clinic where you will work on doubles strategy, court position, and movement. NTRP level: +4.0
Mixed 3.5 Tennis
Men and women are welcome to come practice their doubles games through a largely point-based clinic where you will work on doubles strategy, court position, and movement. NTRP level: 3.5
This clinic is geared towards those ladies that are 3.5+ that would like to work on their doubles games. This 1.5 hour clinic focuses on teamwork, court coverage, shot selection, and tactics. Much of these group are offered in private groups and not listed as a sign-up clinic. Please inquire to Tennis Staff for more information.
Ladies 2.5 – 3.5 Clinic
This clinic is geared towards those ladies that are have a 2.5 – 3.0 NTRP rating that would like to work on their doubles games. This 1.5 hour clinic focuses on teamwork, court coverage, shot selection, and tactics.
Low Impact Cardio Tennis
This Tennis program fits in between a Cardio and Instructional clinic, where students will get a moderate workout while learning more about doubles positioning and strategy. Perfect for the USTA 2.5 to 3.5 range of players who are looking to get more court time, hit more balls and learn more while having fun.
Cardio Tennis is an hour of nonstop drilling and point play with the focus on hitting lots of tennis balls and continuous moving. It’s a fun workout with lots of tennis but with the expectation of fast play.
Advanced Cardio Tennis
This is hard hitting fast paced doubles clinic. Players will first warm-up with ground strokes, volley drills and enjoy different games. Come prepared to sweat and get a great workout while having fun playing tennis.
Men’s 60+ Doubles
Tuesday 10:30 to 12:00pm
Friday 10:30 – 12:00pm
If you are a senior and want to play tennis, then this is the program for you! Our Men’s 60+ Doubles program is one of our very popular adult programs. On average, this program fills up 5+ courts each week. We provide the match-up of players and provide tennis balls, be prepared to meet and play with a variety of different players. ** Players ideally need to reserve their spot 1 week in advance so we can coordinate teams.
Cost: $22 per day
Ladies Round Robin Doubles
Wednesday 10:30 to 12:00 PM
Our social ladies round robin is offered weekly! Players must sign up 48 hours in advance so that we can coordinate teams.
Cost: $22 per day
Offered Friday 9:00 – 10:30am and 6:30 – 8:00pm
Triples is a fun game with a 3 vs 3 format that is supposed to be fun and active. It’s a great first introduction to semi competitive tennis without as much pressure as doubles or singles. 2 players start at the baseline with one at net and after each point played the players rotate positions. All skill levels welcome.

UTR Singles & Doubles Matchplay
Apex Racket and Fitness is the only Premier UTR club in Maine. All our events are verified with UTR.
From September to May we offer Tuesday evenings and select Sunday’s UTR matches. During the summer we offer a series of weekly match play on Thursday evenings.
Sign up at www.Myutr.com. You will need to Join Apex Racket and Fitness site found on MyUTR.com to get important updates on match days. The club does offer Special memberships at a discount, inquire before you purchase your membership through UTR. There can be significant savings.
This is for tennis players who are looking for high-level singles and doubles match play. All matches will count toward your Universal Tennis Rating. Sign up with Mike Hill each week by Monday/Saturday night as match line-ups will be emailed out Tuesday/Saturday morning. The program can include high level junior players and local teaching professionals. Match play format will include 2 out of 3 sets, regular scoring and 10-point tiebreaker in lieu of the 3rd set. Cost: $40 for 2 hours of Singles match play (Juniors in the Apex Tennis Academy: $30/match)
$27 for 2 hours of Doubles match play ($22 for Apex Juniors)
USTA Team Practice: Our tennis instructors can help your team succeed during its USTA league season. One of our tennis professionals can work with your team on a weekly or bi-monthly basis to run practice, provide doubles strategy and instruction. Team practices require eight plus players to run with one instructor and are held on two courts for an hour and a half court time.

USTA Leagues: Mixed 18 & Over, 40 & Over | Adult 18 & Over , 40 & Over | 55 & Over, 65 & Over (invitational)
We are the home club for more than 70 USTA League teams, several of which earned a spot in the National Championships year over year. It’s highly recommended that if you want to get on a team you first take a private lesson with one of our tennis professionals who will then assign you a USTA rating. Once you know your rating you can then begin to either form your own team as a captain or have one of the pros introduce you to a team.
Contract Tennis Court: Many of our tennis players secure a contract on a tennis court for the same time with a consistent day during the fall and winter months. Contracts start from mid September through the end of May. It’s also a good way to stay in shape, economical, and fun. Contact Stephan Woods for details and available times.
In order to keep our newly resurfaced courts in tip top shape PLEASE bring and change into approved indoor tennis shoes (no street shoes allowed) and absolutely NO coffee, soft drinks or gum allowed on the courts.
